This comic strip is based on Lewis Carroll's Jabberwock. A forest is tranquil before the appearance of the Jabberwock. A young man sets out, having been warned of the dangers, to kill the monster, or jabberwock. In the 3rd scene, he waits patiently for the monster to show himself. When the jabberwock appears, they fight, and the boy triumphs. After slaying the monster, the boy brings the decapitated head home to show his father, who is delighted at the sight of it. The final scene is a replica of the first, depicting the same happy, lighthearted tone and representing how things returned to normal once the monster was gone. The theme is that good will always defeat evil, and it is shown when the hero kills the terrifying monster, restoring peace and joy to his home.
