Storyboard Text

  • It's simple, Drew, and only 6 steps, let me show you!
  • Hey Joy,  How do you practice at home?
  • First you find a quiet place in your house to practice. You'll need a chair (not a fun spinny one though), a stand, your music, and your instrument. Don't forget a pencil!
  • How's this?
  • Then you need to review your rhythms of your homework songs. Remember to say your rhythms out-loud.
  • Like this, right? "Tah Tah Tah-Ti Tah"
  • Now we need to read our notes for each song. First step, read them out loud.
  • "E, D, C, rest rest, E, D, C, rest rest..."
  • Great! Now, read your notes out loud again but this time move your fingers on your instrument like you're playing the notes you're singing
  • "E, D, C, rest rest, E, D, C, rest rest..."
  • Fantastic! Now you're ready to play the song. Don't forget, mistakes are OK but you need to fix them before playing the song again!
  • Thanks, Joy!
