  • today i will be discussing the matters concerning race inequalities . By: Margaret Donald
  • Race is social concept used to categorize humans into large and distinct populations by cultural, ethnic, geographical, etc.. affiliation.
  • Racism = racial prejudice + systemic institutional power. Prejudice = deeply held negative attitudes toward a group and its members Discrimination = acting on those negative opinions by treating them unfairly and unjust .
  • African Americans and latinos face the most challenges as a minority group . One type of discrimination they face is institutionalized, which is the unfair practices of behaviors and attitudes that is unfortunately part of the structure of a society. This affects income, employment, and personal liberation.
  • A example in history of race inequalities is the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921. This was the first bombing of a American city . From May 30th to June 1st, white citizens of Tulsa bombed, burned, and shot up the section of Tulsa known as Black Wall Street due to economic jealousy
