King Midas was a very wealthy king who loves gold.One day, country folks found Silenus in a rose garden and took him to King Midas.He fed Silenus and gave him clothes.Bacchus was so pleased for Midas helping Silenus out that he granted him one wish.The king says"I wish ..that everything I touch might turn to gold."
Bacchus granted his wish,the king was so happy that everything he touched would turn to gold his clothes his roses his palace EVERYTHING! But some time later the king was hungry,he sat one his throne which turned to gold and table too and a grab an apple and before he can bit into it , it turned to gold! The king couldn't eat!Midas was very hungry but he still didn't think of his gift as a curse.Until Marigold Midas's daughter hugged him, Marigold turned into gold too.
King Midas was so upset and cried out to the Bacchus to get rid of what he used to be a gift now being a curse.Bacchus heard Midas calling him, when get got to Midas the king begged him to get rid of the curse because he wants his daughter back.Bacchus chose to get rid of the curse because of what he did with Silenus. Bacchus told him to go to River Pactolus and wash yourself there.The king ran straight there and washed himself in the river and washed himself in the river.Midas become back to normal and the sandbars of the river turned into gold.Everything went back to normal and Marigold was no longer gold.King Midas has no more greed towards gold anymore now he appreciates his daughter and his life and not bars of gold and coins.
