These are the Americans that also lived in peace.
By becoming civilized like the Americans we lived like they did. We had farms and slaves, a religion, and a newspaper.
George Washington started a civilization program for the Cherokees.
I am Andrew Jackson, the president. The Cherokee Indians should not be here. I want Indian removal so we can have more land.
The Supreme Court said that Andrew Jackson can not remove the Indians.
The president refused to listen and went ahead with the removal anyway.
We are Major Ridge, John Ridge, and Elias Boudinot. We signed the Treaty of New Echota, which meant the Cherokee people will move West of the Mississippi.
