  • 16th President of United States served as president from 1860-1865. Was the the Leader for the union during the Civil War. His goal as president stated in his inaugural address was that is most important task was to keep the country intacted 
  • Robert E. Lee

  • He was the commander of the Union Army. By September 1861 he was promoted to general. After a series of victories, Lincoln made him commander of the Union army. surround by Grant's army at the confederates capital lee and his army surrender. 
  • William Carney
  •  the first and only President of the Confederate States of America, was a planter, politician and soldier born in Kentucky and raised in Mississippi. youngest child of Revolutionary War soldier Samuel Davis and Jane Cook Davis. Had a short term in U.S house of Representative in left in 1845 , but left to serve in the Mexican war
  • Philip Bazaar
  • When the South seceded from the union Lee was offered to command the union army but refused and the resigned and returned to Virginia to serve with the Confederate forces. In 1862 Lee was appointed to command the Army of Northern Virginia. His battle strategies are admired to this day,. 
  •  served as a Sergeant, Company C, with the 54th Massachusetts Regiment during the Civil War, he was the first black soldier to receive the award on may 23 1900. When the 54th’s sergeant was shot down at Fort Wagner, South Carolina soldier William carney  brought off the flag once the other soldiers were down which he was severely injured in many occasions
  •  was in the Union Navy,  won the Medal of Honor for his distinguished service in the Civil War On board the U.S.S. Santiago de Cuba during the assault on Fort Fisher on 15 January 1865. As one of a boat crew detailed to one of the generals on shore, Bazaar bravely entered the fort in the assault and accompanied his party in carrying dispatches at the height of the battle.
