Storyboard Text

  • Aryabhata was the first major classical Indian mathematicians, born on 476 CE and dying on 550 CE. He went to Kusumapura for his education and lived there for a while. He is also known for creating an observatory in the Sun Temple at Tarengana, Bihar.
  • His major contributions were in math and astronomy, that are still around today. The only real information can be found in the Aryabhatiya. His most notable accomplishments were in finding approximately what the value of pi is,  algebra, indeterminate equations,  solar system motions and  eclipses.
