Siddhartha's father wants him to became a king and not a Religious leader so he protects him from all the horrors of the world like death or sickness.
I know the truth
One night the young prince sneaks out and sees four passing sights. First he sees a old person who is leaning on a cane. Second he sees a man shrunken by disease. Finally he sees a man who has died and his family was standing nearby crying.
Do you know the truth.
Who is this?
Siddhartha goes to the Ascetics to try to find answers for why all of this suffering is happening and they teach him self denial and not to eat or have much water each day. Siddhartha realizes that this is not the way that he wants to live so he leaves the Ascetics.
Siddhartha reaches enlightenment by sitting under a tree and meditating for 49 days until he realizes the truth and becomes enlightened. and is now called the Buddha.
The Buddha decides to go out and teach this truth to the world and not keep it to himself and they call this religion today Buddhism.
