Storyboard Text
- a set of strong, high-crowned teeth, suited to grinding grasses and other harsh vegetation
- Horses are able to sleep standing up because a "stay apparatus" in their legs allows them to relax their muscles and doze without collapsing
- Domesticated, or tamed, horses can live in almost any habitat, but wild horses prefer plains, prairies, and steppes
- The tail is used for balance and for swatting insects that could bite the horse
- The spleen stores extra red blood cells so it can squeeze it out into circulation making them top athletes
- Wide mouth and specialized teeth for eating vegetation
- Three stomachs for digestion of grasses and harsh vegetation
- Evaporative heat loss (panting and sweating)

- 4 chambered stomach to help them digest rough food
- mountain goats have thick white coats to keep warm and camouflage

- cloven hooves allow them to scale sheer rocky cliffs
