Storyboard Text

  • We are throwing a banquet for my favorite artisan. Prepare the food.
  • Pharaoh
  • Coming right up!
  • Government Officials
  • We are having a court trial for a thief tomorrow.
  • Priests
  • Have you washed yourself today? Or are you like me and you do it periodically?
  • Pharaohs were royal, rich, respected, and gods. They were also at the top of the social pyramid in Ancient Egypt. They portray an important role in the Egyptians lives.
  • Scribes
  • Taxes are due tomorrow!
  • Government Officials oversee the court for theift cases and were the judge. They were also born into their power along with everyone else in the social pyramid. They also had better clothing than the rest of the social pyramid along with collecting taxes for the Pharaoh and advises them.
  • Artisans
  • Finally my week is over! Weekend here I come!
  • Priests washed themselves at the most of 4 times a day to be considered "Pure"  along with Priests being bald. Priests were the ones who made the body ready for death by taking out most of their insides, putting oil on them, and salted them to preserve their bodies. Pharaohs even came to Priests for advice.
  • Peasants
  • Harvesting season comes in two weeks! I hope our crops let off a good one.
  • Scribes kept track of the taxes, number of soldiers, and other things that they wrote on grain pallets with chiseled writing utensils.
  • Artisans worked for 10 days straight until they had their weekend. They worked on royal projects such as playing music at banquets or carving tombs for the Pharaohs as well as making clothes and getting jewelry. They had 3 roomed houses too.
  • I still have 2 days left of my work week.
  • Peasants learned at a young age to farm and build. Their skills were considered "Unskilled labor" because everyone at that time could build or plant. They had usually no free time of the day because they worked from dawn to dusk. When it was flooding season the farmers would then be builders and work on royal projects until they had to plant again.
