Storyboard Text

  • After the war was over the government pushed Native Americans West, and put them in reservations just for them to live. They did this because they needed space for their growing population.
  • We will put you in reservations you will live in.
  • You have to leave, we need this space for US and us only!
  • The U.S. government sent some of their army to move and sometime force Native American tribes to reservations.
  • We will not just leave the only home we've ever known just for your little country!
  • Then we'll have to force you!
  • No! We'll move, we'll move!
  • The Native Americans were moved to "Reservations" that were basically unwanted land from whites that they forced native tribes into.
  • We will give you food and your children will go to school to learn to "Live like whites" good day.
  • o-okay, bye
  • The Natives never got what they were promised and their children were very much forced to go to boarding schools that would: punish children for practicing the Native culture,  spend the day half in classes and half on assignments, give them "white" haircuts, many children got disease, and would learn things that white people would do as jobs, like women do housework and men, blacksmithing or carpenter things.
  • Our children are being stripped of their culture, we never got the food we promised. Don't just sit there and cry about it, DO SOMETHING!
  • I'm so hungry!
  • Assimilation is a process of  which one culture takes on the on of another.
  • The only reason the whites are assimilating our children is because they want to find a way to get OUR land!
  • Well some of them think that it will actually HELP us, they're wrong, but still.
