  • The whiskey tax will be used to pay off our debts.

  • Alexander Hamilton wanted to make money off a new tax. This thing he was going to put the tax on was common among americans at the time. It was used as a source of income and was frequently purchased. Alexander Hamilton wanted to make money off of tax on whiskey to pay off debt.
  • Farmers from all over the west of Pennsylvania protested against the all new Whiskey Tax. The farmers said it was unfair because Whiskey was one of their sources of income. They also found it unfair that their source of income was paying off someone else's debt.
  • Victory!
  • The Farmers proceeded to cover tax collectors in tar and feathers. They also started threatening to actually attack. This is getting out of hand...
  • After many unfortunate events later George Washington sent around 13,000 solders to West Pennsylvania to stop the madness that is this rebellion.
  • One short battle later the solders sent by Washington were successful in their mission. The rebels did not return to their protesting and everything died down for now...
