  • The Greeks and the Persians never liked each other which led up to the start of the Persian Wars.

  • The Persians had 25,000 soldiers and the Athenians had 10,000 men. The Persians wore light armor which was a big mistake. The Persians were not prepared and were defeated badly.
  • Battle of Salamis
  • OUR SMALL BOATS ARE BETTER!!!

  • Greek city states were not sure they should fight or not so 300 Spartins went to stop Persian forces. They were outnumbered and lost the battle. 
  • The End
  • Xerxes burnt Athens down while Greeks fled to the island of Salamis.
  • After Xerxes burnt down Athens they had another battle. The Greeks had small boats to navigate the narrow channel while Xerxes army had huge ships that were too difficult to turn. Xerxes watched 1/3 of his ships get destroyed.
  • After all of the fighting they finally wanted peace and all the Greek city states decided to form together the Delian League.
