- The Proclamation of 1763 made it so that no colonists and settle on the other side of the Appalachian Mountains. Most of the colonist ignored the rule

- The Sugar and Stamp Act made the colonists so made they boycotted Sugar and smugged it.

- 1767 a new set of taxes were passed on glass, paper, other goods and tea. These acts cut down on smuggling, giving Customs officials the ability to search anywhere.
