Storyboard Text

  • Yes!! Let's go!
  • I'm ready to go, are you?
  • Daedalus and Icarus were held prisoners by on the island of Crete by King Minos.
  • Okay dad!
  • You'll be safe if you stay close to me! Don't wander too far!
  • Daedalus had Icarus collect a big pile of feathers from the gulls that soared over the island.
  • Woohoo! Haha!
  • With these feathers, he melted some wax and stuck the feathers together to make wings. Together, they took off into the sky to escape the island.
  • Daedalus warned his son not to wander far from him, for if he flew too low his wings would get clogged by the fog and spray, and if he flew too high the wax would melt.
  • The thrill of flight went to Icarus's head as he flew above the clouds and by the sun. The sun melted the wax on his wings and he plummeted into the sea.
  • Icarus, no!
  • Daedalus sadly makes it to Sicily alone and mourns his son.
