Mier went and found a lot of colonists breaking the rules. People were drinking, cussing, being super lazy. Mier was pretty mad when he saw people breaking the Constitution of 1824.
Mier went back to tell Santa Anna and Santa Anna was super mad. He didn't like what he was hearing, so he took away the Constitution of 1824. He was worried because Mexicans were getting overpowered by Americans by the ratio of 10 Americans and only one Mexican.
COME AND TAKE IT
War or Peace? The colonists had a debate. Half said peace and half said war. When SFA came, he had a quick choice, it was war. The peace side switched to the war side. They got ready to fight. They also stole Mexico's cannon and hid it.
The Gonzalez City got ready. The Mexican army came but the river was too deep to cross and colonists on the other side brought the boats so the Mexican army couldn't cross.
The colonists decided to make a flag and get the cannon. The flag said "Come and Take It" as a way of teasing. That's when the battle started.
