Pre-algebra project on speed
How do you find the speed?
Do you know how fast someone could be going down that slide?
Thanks! How about tomorrow we come back and test how fast we go down the slide!
We already measured the slide to be 2 meters. Now I will time how fast you can go down the slide as accurately as possible. Ready? GO!
To find speed, you must find the distance traveled and the time it took to travel that distance, then divide the distance by the time, and you get your speed, which is the distance traveled in a specific amount of time.
My stopwatch says 3.50 seconds.
How long was that?
If we traveled two meters in 3.5 seconds, that means that we were traveling at 2 divided by 3.5 which equals about 0.6 meters/second
