Creon Telling Oedipus of His Visit with the Oracle
Oedipus has the Blind Prophet Tiresias Brought to Thebes
Oedipus defeated the sphinx that had brought terror to the city of Thebes by answering her riddle which made her kill herself.
Oedipus had sent Creon to the oracle to hopefully get information or an idea about how to stop the plague. He came back and told them in order to stop the plague they needed to find and kill the person who killed their old king, Laius.
The prophet Tiresias is escorted to Thebes upon Oedipus' request so he can ask him how to stop the plague or who killed Laius years ago so they can find him and put him to exile.
