  •              Sedimentary Rock
  • "How do rocks wash their clothes?" "They use a rock cycle."
  • Metamorphic Rock
  • "My jokes are rock solid"
  • A rock that forms from the cooling of molten rock at or below the surface is called an igneous rock. The solidification of the magma from volcanoes turns into igneous rock.
  • Weathering and erosion then forms sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rock is when particles from other rocks or the remains of plants and animals are pressed and cemented together. It goes through deposition and burial. Then compaction and/or cementation.
  • Then heat and pressure on a sedimentary rock forms a metamorphic rock. A metamorphic rock is a type of rock that forms from an existing rock that is changed be heat, pressure, or chemical reactions. Then the melting of the metamporphic rock melts creating magma and then the rock cycle begins again.
