  • BRITISH GOODS
  • The French and British were fighting over the same land. The French had allied with th Indan and fought against the British together. The British won the war, but it left them in a great debt.
  • We want your land
  • Since Britain was in debt from the war, they stated to tax paper items. The colonist were mad because they had no say on wether this law should be passed or not. All paper items had a big red stamp that added money to the original amount. To protest, colonist got paper and started to burn them in the middle of the street to show how they were mad and would not buy andy more paper items.
  • We will burn this paper to show how we don't care about it
  • A boycott started towards all British. This was apart of the protests against the taxes. Women played a big part in this because they had to only buy American goods for their families in order to support the boycott. This meant that women had to improvise for not buying any British items.
