Pysche's siters convince her that Eros may be a hurrendous serpent, so in the middle of the night she holds an oil lamp up to his face but spills a drop of the hot oil on his cheek. He immedeatly awakens and leaves her, filled with rage.
Aphrodite (Eros's mother) disapproves of her son's and Psyche's relationship, especially because of her betraylment. Aphrodite brings Eros back to her home and locks him inside. In order to free him, Aphrodite must complete three almost impossible tasks. Such as, seperating big bushels of grain, retreiving golden fleece from the back of a sheep, and to travel a long dark road to deliver a box to Hades.

On her way to delvier the box of 'beauty' to Hades, Psyche grows curious and opens the box. Her curiousity betrays her again, and waves of posion ooze out, causing her to be encapsulated in a forever sleep. Eros flies out of his mother's prison and wakes her with one of his arrows. In the end, she delviers the box to Hades, and the Gods and Godesses grow to repsect her.
