  • I'm poor.
  • I'm rich.
  • I hereby claim this land mine.
  • The Decline of Feudalism
  • France
  • Hey...
  • Doug, I need you to defend France.
  • Ok, but I want something back.
  • These are our friends, Doug and Phillip. They live in France. Doug is a peasant and Phillip is the King of France.
  • King Edward of England claimed some of King                     Phillip's land as his own.
  • More money for me.
  • So Phillip came up with an idea. Instead of relying on lords and their knights, he gathered up all the peasants and formed an army.
  • So Phillip raised taxes to pay the arm and the army fought with bravery and pride.
  • After about one hundred years of warfare, France won. The peasants came to realize how powerful they were. King Philip became rich from all the taxes.
  • The End.
  • Peasants gained power by grouping up as one and outnumbering the higher classes. As for King Phillip, he no longer had to rely on lords to protect him. So, it was a win, win.
