Storyboard Text

  • There were many reasons for conflict between the French and British. One reason was that they both needed land for different reasons. The English wanted the land for more ways to settle on and expand. The French wanted land for fur trade. The Natives thought of this land as home because they were here first, and it was originally there's too.
  • Jumonville was a peacemaker from the natives. He absolutely dreaded war and conflict. The peacemaker got killed by a guy named the half king. The half king took advantage of George Washington’s inexperience. He blamed the murder on Washington and he didn’t know what to do about it.
  • The attack on fort necessity was held in a big valley surrounded by high ground. Washington chose to build his fort in the valley, which was a bad idea because his enemies had high ground. This was all due to Washington’s inexperience.
  • For the surrender papers, he got a backup translator because his actual translator got hurt in battle. His backup translator translated wrongly. This leads to him signing that he actually killed Jumonville.
  • Washington was a very inexperienced person because he was young at the time. As time grew on, he grew in experience. There were many reasons to prove that he was inexperienced. First of all, he built a fort in the low ground. Next, he signed a paper that he didn't know what was about.
  • King George sends British troops to go clean up after George Washington's mess that he left on the battle field. This war was called the French and Indian war because the Natives kind of took over the battle. Many natives joined the French side to help fight in the war.
