He was beat and stripped of his clothing by robbers.
A priest came by but walked on the opposite side of the road.
A Levite also passed by on the opposite side of the road.
Then came a Samaritan. He saw the man and took pity on him. He bandaged his wounds with oil and wine and he took the man on his donkey.
The Samaritan brought him to an inn and took care of the expenses. Jesus asked which of the three was a neighbor to the man. The expert responded by saying "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
