Don't be silly, Tommy! No worries, he was just reading too many comic books.
They don't want us to leave. The aliens. They turned off the power because they dont want us to leave.
He's the monster! He's always awake at night, looking at the stars!
My car wasn't working, but now the engine just started! I had nothing to do with it, I swear! You saw me!
He and his family had always been the odd ball...
It was a normal day in Maple Street until a meteor overhead flies above them. The power is suddenly out and people start to complain and wonder how it happened.
He's the monster!
After Pete Van Horn leaves to check to see if the other neighborhoods' houses' power is working, Steve and Charlie start to walk there too. Before they could leave, however, Tommy tells them that the meteor has something to do with aliens. Everyone thinks Tommy is just imaging.
As Tommy was talking, Les Goodman tries to turn on his car. After several tries, he gets out of his car and the engine then turns on. People start to assume that Les Goodman is a monster.
Understand the procedure now? Just stop a few of their machines and radios... throw them into darkness for a few hours and then you just sit back and watch the pattern.
A few hours later, everyone is suspicious of one another. Footsteps then echo throughout the neighborhood. Charlie (who hadn't left yet) grabs a shotgun and pulls the trigger. They surround the figure, but it was Pete Van Horn, who was just coming back from the other neighborhood. Everyone then starts to suspect Charlie is the monster.
I-It was an accident! How could I have possibly known it was Pete?! It's dark out!
Charlie's lights turn on in his house, and everyone grabs stones and throws them at his windows. Everyone starts to hurt each other and still accuse one another about who the monster is. The mob turns into a riot.
From a distance, the aliens observe what happens to the humans. One alien explains to the other what had happened. He shows that fear in the human mind took over their conscience, and that you shouldn't always jump to conclusions.
And we'll go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves. One to the other... one to the other....
