  • Rome was built by a tribe by the Tiber River by a mountain range. It was on the Italian peninsula.
  • Influence of Etruscan Sports
  • Romulus and Remus were put in a basket when they were babies. They floated down a stream and a wolf found them. They were raised by the wolf in a den until they grew up and built a town by the Tiber River. They fought for it and Romulus won and named it Rome.
  • Influence of Greek Architecture
  • Arches were built over doorways. The arch is held in place because of the stones being pushed together.
  • Influence of Greek Art, Religion and Writing
  • In Greece in the Olympic games there was chariot races. In Rome they have chariot races in the Colosseum.
  • The Romans used Greek designs for their temples. They used Greek columns outside of their buildings too.
  • Greeks made statues of their gods. They put the statues in the temples for dwelling places.
