  • Monetary VS. Fiscal Policy
  • By: Adam Bieri and Jonathan Harris
  • Okay, obviously, the fiscal policy is better than the monetary because the government spending and taxes help with inflation and recession.
  • Monetary policy is superior. The Federal Reserve controls the discount rate, reserve requirements, and open market operations.
  • Also, government spending can increase output and the new tax codes can leave people with more money.
  • You do realize that prices would increase as well, right?
  • They're doing OK. The Fed increased funding recently though.
  • That should help out some of the businesses and let the economy grow more.
  • What about Texas?
  • Yeah, they both help deal with inflation and recession, they have no way to majorly outbalance one another.
  • I'm gonna have to compromise with you. These both support each other.
