- Rude Awakening
- The story started when Rainsford was sailing on the ocean with his crew, heading to the Amazon Rainforest to hunt jaguars. During the middle of the night while passing "Ship Trap Island" Rainsford heard a gunshot, when he went to look he fell off the ship.
- On the Run
- Rainsford followed the sounds of gunshots to swim to the island. He fell asleep and woke up lost. Rainsford heard some more gunshots and knew that gunshots mean men and where there are men there is food.
- Diving to Safety
- Rainsford found a mansion where a man named Zaroff was posted. Zaroff knew Rainsford for the books he's written about hunting. After some foreshadowing, Zaroff revealed that he brings humans to the island to hunt them. Zaroffs companion, Ivan, is a mute and deaf hunter.
- Finally, the End
- After Rainsford refused to hunt with Zaroff, Zaroff decided he was going to hunt Rainsford. Rainsford was angry, and after some traps that killed a dog and Ivan, and wounded Zaroff, Rainsford had almost beat Zaroff's game.
- After resting, Zaroff decided to use the dogs to hunt down Rainsford. The dogs chased Rainsford to the water's edge, so he jumped into the ocean.
- Zaroff went home to rest, and after eating he went to his bedroom. Rainsford had beat him to the mansion by swimming and was waiting for him in his bedroom. They fought and Rainsford won and fed Zaroff to the dogs.
