The Chaldean's led a revolt against the Assyrian army. After the Assyrian king was killed, King Nabopolassar and his son, Nebuchadnezzar built a new empire; the Chaldean Empire.
King Nebuchadnezzar rebuilt Babylon, which made it the largest and richest city in the world.
After Nebuchadnezzar died, a series of week kings ruled the Chaldean Empire, plus the poor harvests and slow trade made things worse.
