I'm Anton Van Leeuwenhoek. I love to study objects under a microscope that I made! Pretty cool, right!
The way I tried to improve the microscope was making lenses which would have the ability to magnify almost 300-fold, or 270x. Once I was able to perfect the magnification, I can see things clearer than ever!
WOW! I just discovered Protozoa! This is a single-cell organism usually in a moist or water environment.
Eureka! I discovered Bacteria. Bacteria is a single-cell organism that lives in all environments. Bacteria can be helpful and dangerous, which I find fascinating!
Even though I really don't have much of a scientific background, I do love to discover new things. My discovery of Protozoa and Bacteria, somehow laid the path to the study of Microbiology. Who knew that I can make such an impact on Science!
I just found out I'm nicknamed the "Father of Microbiology", I never did share my secrets on how I developed the lenses, and people still ask me how I was able to make all these different lenses. But, I'll never tell! Which also makes me the "Father of the Microscope".
