- The beast isn't real! I must go tell the others!

- Simon wakes up, only to realize that he was hallucinating. The pig's head - the beast - is on a stick in front of him. He doesn't know what to do.

- “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!”
- “Who’ll join my tribe?”
- Simon wanders off and discovers that the beast is actually a man in a parachute. He wants to go tell the others.

- Meanwhile, Jack throws a party. Ralph and Piggy join with hunger and curiosity.

- Jack questions the rule of the island. Jack asks the boys, “Who’ll join my tribe?” A lot of the boys say "I will" and then they start to chant, “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!”
- The boys hear something behind a bush and they think that it's the beast. They kill it.
- Turns out that the "beast" that they killed was Simon. Simon's body gets washed up onto the shore.
