  • May I speak? I am Macharia Kamau of Kenya. United Nations is a world government made out of 192 countries that helps make peace and improve security.

  • Attention delegates. We are here today to welcome South Sudan into UN. Who we have here today representing Sudan is David Shearer.
  • Thank you everyone. But I must be honest. I know very little about the UN. I all know is that it deals with international relationships. What is it exactly?

  • I agree. I am Nguyen Thi Phuong Nga of Vietnam.  The UN has six parts: the General Assembly, Security council, Economics and Social council, Trusteeship Council, and International Court of Justice,

  • The General Assembly is when all 193 countries meet and discuss problems. 
  • The Security Council has 5 abiding members: China, Russia, France, UK, US and deals specifically with security and preventing wars.
