  • In the Battle of San Jacinto, Santa Anna ran away while dressed in peasant clothes. The Texians found a disguised Santa Anna and took him in as a poor man. Santa Anna's men recognized him and started to bow down to him. The Texians brought him back to an injured Sam Houston and he gave a speech.
