  • But, the green insects were easily noticed and hunted by predators like birds
  • It was easier for the green insects to hide. Their population grew, while the tan insects' population began to decrease. The green insects were the fittest in this environment.
  • The tan insect population thrived while the green insects struggled, and began to die out.
  • The habitat they lived in began to change. Green insects began to use camouflage as well.
  • The green insect population began to grow again. The balance between the two populations was being restored.
