Storyboard Text

  • There was always a town picnic on the fourth of July, and prizes were awarded for the best peach pie and peach jam. And a special prize was given every year to Miss Katherine Barlow for her fabulous spiced peaches.
  • 4th of July
  • Katherine Barlow was the town's only schoolteacher. She taught in an old one-room schoolhouse. It was old even then. She was a wonderful teacher, full of knowledge and full of life. The children loved her.
  • There was an onion picker called 'Sam'. Katherine Barlow always bought an extra 1 or 2 and let Mary Lou eat it. Katherine Barlow asked Sam to fix the windows and the roof because Sam could fix a lot of things.
  • Onions! Sweet, fresh onions!
  • Katherine Barlow wanted to throw her arms around him but couldn't bring herself to do it. Then, Sam took both of her hands and kissed her. Because of the rain, there was no one else out on the street. Well, they thought there was no one.
  • I can fix that
  • My heart is breaking
  • OMG!
  • Word spread quickly through the small town. Not one child showed up for school next morning. A Sheriff was drinking a bottle of whiskey. The sheriff told her to kiss him as well, then he won't hang Sam. But Katherine refused him and tried to escape the town with Sam.
  • You're drunk! Sam!  We've got to get out of here.
  • Here's the deal. One sweet kiss and I won't hang your boyfriend.
  • Sam was shot and killed in the water. Katherine Barlow was rescued against her wishes. 3 days after Sam's death, Katherine shot the sheriff and she applied a fresh coat of red lipstick and gave him the kiss he had asked for. For the next twenty years, Kissin' Kate Barlow was one of the most feared outlwas in all the WEST
