Back in the Paleolithic age, hunting was a big sport of living and if no one hunted food got scarce. Once they started to farm, their food supply became more plentiful. As agriculture advanced people started raise animals as well as growing crops
Hunter gatherers had to move around the area (which is exhausting). Once hunter gatherers are hunting in one area for a while, food gets deficient. On the other hand farmers stayed in one place and had an ample amount of food.
As the paleolithic age was beginning, more people learned and started agriculture and giving up the hunter gatherer instincts. It was more convenient and had more benefits like permanent shelter, plenty of food, and to focus on more crafts.
