The growth of literacy was simulated by the Gutenberg printing press.
The printing press obviously helped spread ideas through towns.
People adapted Chinese technology.
This led to the Gutenberg Bible, the first full book made with a moveable printing press.
Books were now cheaper so people could actually buy and read them.
The Bible could now be written in a vernacular language so people could read them.
But the problem that come with that is people can now interpret the Bible for themselves.
This led to a huge creative burst.
This led to the spread of ideas through text which everyone could now read.
Also more inventions were made to make things easier.
