- Hello! I was sitting under this apple tree and noticed that an apple fell down. I wondered why it fell down towards the earth without pulling it. Let us see why/
- As we all learnt that it is because of free fall. Free Fall as the term says , the body falling freely because of the gravitational pull of the earth. In simple words we can say that an object with ONLY GRAVITY acting on it.
- An apple is a freely falling object. Apple is falling under the sole influence of gravity.All objects will fall with the same rate of acceleration, regardless of their mass
- Let us calculate the final velocity when the apple falling at height of 4m/s from rest .
- Given: g= 9.8; u= 0; h= 4mTherefore, the final velocity v=8.857m/sTime=0.903 sec
- Let me show you an example which may seem like free fall but it is not. Come, let's go!
- Let us take a skydiver for example. Even though he is falling freely with the influence of gravity, a parachute is in use, which causes air resistance and a pull, which means that, the gravity is not the only force which is acting upon him in this case
- Remember, all objects fall under the same rate regardless of their mass or size. Hope you got it, bye!
