Marbury v. Madison (Gryphin Dean)
This storyboard does not have a description.
John Adams decides to appoint as many Federalist judges as possible. Leaving all commissions to the next president.
WE CAN'T LET THE REPUBLICANS TAKE OVER!
I won't elect anymore judges. However, Madison don't give the appointed ones a job.
Hmmm... I feel like this may not be a great idea but it's the president.
Judge Marshal! I am legally a judge too! But Thomas Jefferson won't give me my job. We need to fight this.
This is our job to protect the rights of everyone even from presidents. We need to handle this.
There's nothing I can do. It is not under my jurisdiction. However, Marbury is protected from even some unconstitutional acts made by congress and the president.
Oh Jefferson! This is the first action made by the government to be deemed unconstitutional by the supreme court. This is just the start. I bet this high court will see many more important cases in its time.
