  • Cassius Clay was born on January 17th, 1942
  • When he was 12 his bike was stolen. The police who helped him was a boxing mentor. Thats how Cassius Clay got into boxing.
  • In the summer of 1960, Cassius Clay won  a gold medal in the light heavyweight in the Rome Olympics
  • Cassius Clay made his debut on October 29 1960. He won over a 6 round decision
  • Cassius Clay won his first heavyweight in 1964. After he changed his name to Muhammad Ali, for he took on the religion of Islam
  • Muhammad Ali refuses To be drafted. Two Quotes "I ain't got no quarrel with em Vietcong," and "No Vietcong ever called me the N-word."
  • Because of his refusal to be drafted he got in jailed
  • After being released and getting his boxing license back his fighting style changed. He became slower but discovered he could take punches. He lost more and more fights.
  • On December 17, 1981, Muhammad Ali had his last fight. He lost to Trevor Berbick
  • After his boxing career Muhammad Ali became a religious activist.
  • Muhammad Ali died on June 3, 2016. His cause of death was septic shock.
