At 8 o'clock every morning, King Louis wakes up by his personal servant. Then his physician and surgeon come into his room. After them comes his wet-nurse who walks in and gives him a kiss. That's how he starts his day.
Gathering of people
The Chamberlain gave King Louis the Office of the Holy Ghost which he read. Then King Louis goes to another room to get dressed. Along come with him a group of nobles just to watch him get ready.
After King Louis is done dressing, he kneels down beside his bed and says his prayers. This scene shows that King Louis is in his bedroom beside his bed praying in his room.
King Louis then went into his study. Usually there would be many people as a gathering. In this study, he announced what people would do all day, their appointments for every quarter of an hour. After that announcement had been made, the room was cleared.
When King Louis had his meal of a small meal, 3 courses, and several different dishes, his brother was always there because he had to hand his brother a napkin. Monsieur, who was his brother would stay standing until not told to sit. The King would ask if he wanted to sit and then Monsieur would bow and take a seat, until the end of the meal when his brother needed his napkin again.
King Louis would go hunting once or twice a week. He went stag-hunting. King Louis was a first class shot. He would usually choose Sundays or feast days when there were no works for him to inspect.
