This is the meal that was served at 10 pm for King Louis. When he ate, the entire royal family sat down with him. But the meal often did not start until 11:30 pm. The meal was attended by many many people by those entitled to be seated or not be seated.
Everyday before King Louis went to bed, he always fed his dogs. He would not sleep without giving his dogs food. After that, then he said good-night.
Just as he is done changing and about to sleep, he gives the passcode to the Captain of the Guard. Then that marks that last opportunity to speak to the King. If anybody did come, the guard stepped forward and withdrew at once and left him alone with the King.
