Battle of Stalingrad
It began on September 8th, 1941 and lasted until January 27th, 1944. 700,000 people in a population of about 2.5 million died in the blockade due bombardment, cold, and starvation.
Battle of Berlin
Began in September of 1939 and ended with the Germans surrendering in May 1945 and was the wars longest nonstop military campaign. It began when the British declared war against Germany.
Historians considered this battle as one that decimated the invincible German army and her allies as they fought against the Soveit´s Red army in Russia. The battle of Stalingrad is considered the turning point of World War II.
Soviet leader Joseph Stalin unleashed 6,300 tanks, 8,500 aircraft, and 20 armies to capture Berlin and crush the German resistance. Over 30,000 red army soldiers died, while the Germans lost 10,000.
It was also known as the Shoah and was the World War II genocide of the European Jews. German´s killed about six million Jews, around two thirds of the European Jewish population.
