Romulus and Remus are being thrown in the river Tiber because Amulius tries to kill them.
They are found. The legend says a wolf finds them and cares for them until a shepherd and his wife adopt them. When they grew old they discovered they were princes.
They then kill their great-uncle Amulius and put Numitor back on the throne. The twins then decide to build their own city.
Romulus then starts to build the walls of the city on the Palatine Hill. Remus wants to build the city on the Aventine Hill. Remus makes fun of Romulus’ walls, the two fight and Remus is killed.
The Sabines and Romulus went to war, with Romulus and the Romans winning. Romulus then made the Sabines’ city a colony of Rome.
Romulus reigned for many years. Different sources say different things about how he died. Some say he was murdered by his senators. Others say he disappeared in a storm and was taken to be one of the gods.
