Curley's wife enter the farm, and because she was always lonely and has no one to talk to she decide to talk with Lennie. While they were talking Lennie says to her that he likes to touch soft things, so Curley's wife let him touch her hair. Lennie didn't want to stop touching it; Curley's wife got scared and tried to get off of him, she screams, and Lennie grab her very tight and broke her neck
Lennie stars hallucinating with his aunt and the giant rabbid.
Curley fins out that Lennie was responsible of his wife dead and decide to kill lennie himself. George stole Carlson's gun and make the decision to kill Lennie himself, because he knew that Curley and his gang were going to do something worse to Lennie. Before he kill Lennie, George is telling him to imagine their dream farm so he can died in peaceful way.
The dead of Candy's dog is literacy advice, foreshadowing. Candy's dog was shooted right in the back of the head this foreshadow Lennie's dead. Carlson offers to kill the dog quickly by shooting it in the back of the head “ain't no good to himself.”
