Storyboard Text

  • Oct 5, 1789
  • Pas de pan
  • How on earth are we going to eat when the prices keep going up? We can't even eat off of one loaf a day.
  • No more bread! No more bread here!
  • The king and queen are to pay
  • The women of Paris wait at markets, trying to get bread
  • We used to eat 4 loaves a day, now I can't afford it!
  • This kingdom has had enough of his negligance to feed us.
  • Even the men are fed up with the king and his soldiers
  • I am done with the kings soldiers. They're rude, insult the revolution, and do very degrading things.
  • Monsieur, do you have food?
  • I can't believe the upper class can get the necessities without work, but we are forced to work and pay highly for them.
  • We must do something
  • The Parisian women and some men decided to march 12 miles to Versailles
  • Ring the bells, let all the villages know we shall march!
  • We should have fair rights like the other classes!
  • Monsieur Louis shall come back to Paris and give us our privileges!
  • They called upon many other villages to come march, making it about 5,000 people, in the rain
  • They reached Versailles and demanded Louis to come back to Paris and drop prices of food
  • Oh no! I didn't think they would notice the price that much!
  • Imbecile
