Storyboard Text

  • Hi! My name is Nicole, I'm a water droplet.
  • Today we will be learning about the water cycle. I, a water droplet, will go through this cycle while we learn about each part of the cycle.
  • You don't see me now, I've changed because of evaporation! Evaporation is the process of water changing state from a liquid to a gas. I absorb energy to change into water vapor, but I'm still water.
  • Now I'm inside a cloud! Clouds are formed by a process called condensation. Condensation is the process when water changes state from a gas to a liquid.
  • The next part of the cycle is precipitation, in which I come down in the atmosphere as either a liquid or a solid, in the form of rain, snow, sleet or hail.
  • However, not all of will flow in the river. Some of us are absorbed into the soil and rocks.
  • Next is runoff. During runoff ,I, along with other water droplets, flow off of a surface in a stream or river.
  • And there you have it, the water cycle! I go through this cycle again and again: Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation and runoff.
