  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • So you're not killed as you ought to be, bu your caught anyway, caught fast. Ho what a jest, Ulrich Von Gradwitz snarled in his stolen forest. That's real justice for you!
  • I'm caught in my own forest-land, when my men come to release us you will wish, perhaps, that you were in a  better plight than caught poaching on a neighbors land, shame on you.
  • Could you reach his flask if i threw it over to you? There is good wine in it, and one may as well be comfortable as one can.
  • Ulrich Von Gradwitz goes hunting for "a human enemy."
  • Climax
  • They run into each other in the forest but either one of them "cannot easily nerve himself to shoot down his neighbor in cold blood..."
  • Falling action
  • Neighbor do as you please if your men come first. It was a fair compact. But as for me, I've changed my mind. If my men are the first to come you shall be the first to be helped, as though you were my guest. We have quarreled like devils all our lives over this stupid strip of forest, where the trees can't even stand up in a breathe of wind ... Neighbor, if you will help me to bury the old quarrel I-I will ask you to be my friend.
  • Lets shout for help, in this lull our voices may carry a little way. Together again... I heard something that time, I think. I can see figures coming through the wood. They are following in the way I came down the hillside. They hear us! They've stopped. Now they see us. They're running down the hill towards us...  Wolves
  • A huge beach tree then fell over on top of the two of them trapping them under it. They were both alive but were completely trapped fully under.
  • Conclusion
  • Ulrich offers george his flask and he is starting to like george but george still thinks of him as his enemy.
  • No, I can scarcely see anything, there is much blood caked around my eyes, and in any case I don't drink wine with an enemy.
  • They are still under the tree but they are starting to become friends because they realize they have never actually met the other person and the feud is just there ancestors and not actually between them.
  • How the whole region would stare and gabble if we rode into the market-square together.... and you offered me your wine-flask .... Ulrich Von Gradwitz, I will be your friend.
  • After they become friends they start to worry about themselves so they start yelling for help but attract unwanted creatures. "The two raised there voices in a prolonged hunting call." They kept calling and calling until the creaturs came.
  • They won't carry far through the trees and undergrowth, but we can try together. I heard nothing but the pestilential wind. Then they are yours.
