The Tell-Tale Heart Mahboba Ansari Mr. Haws CP English 5 25 October 2018
Narrator plots to kill the old man because his "vulture eye" vexes him.
I think it was his eye! yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture –a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold
The Narrator watches the old man for seven nights. On the eighth night the narrator laughs at how wise he is and that wakes up the old man looking very afraid.
and inquiring how he has passed the night. So you see he would have been a very profound old man, indeed, to suspect that every night, just at twelve, I looked in upon him while he slept.
The Narrator sees the eyes and kills the old man. By suffocating him with a mattress.
The Narrator hides the old man under the floorboards, before the police come because a neighbor heard a "shriek in the night".
When the narrator talks to the police he all of the sudden hears the old man's heart beating really loud (the beating is own heart out of guilt), he thinks the police hear it but are mocking him so he confesses out of guilt.
