  • French Alliance
  • Colonists fought on their home ground. British soldiers had to travel to fight the colonists.
  • Untrained and Unorganized
  • Colonists were passionate for this battle. They wanted to fight for their freedom and independence from Britain. 
  • Significantly Outnumbered
  • The colonists were fighting alongside the French. The British were unable to fight with the French.
  • Shortage in Supplies
  • They did not have the proper training like British soldiers. British soldiers were very well trained. 
  • The British army contained lots of men that were trained and ready to fight. Colonists did not have as much soldiers as the British army did. 
  • People mostly had to provide for themselves. There weren't always enough supplies to provide for everyone.
